I was over the moon the other day to hear my two year old son shout out ‘mum’. He could have quite easily opted for the American version ‘mom’ but he didn’t. I think it’s because he just returned from a holiday with his grandparents and heard me saying mum. Mummy. Oh mummy. Mum!

Now I have to train him to say nappy, pram, geezer, aright mate, oi!, cheers love, how’s your father and mum will defintely be the word.
