I’d first been alerted to Starcrawler after watching Justin Hawkins – of the Darkness – on his excellent YouTube channel. He mentioned this LA based band and after Googling them I found out they were playing locally at the OC Observatory. As it’s close I thought I’d check em out. Musically it’s meat and two veg rock and roll. Which is typically not really my thing but when its delivered with such energy and charisma it stood out. I’m particularly talking about their wild star-in-the-wings Arrow De Wilde. She’s a really good front woman, bags of energy pulling all the right rock poses and hitting the right notes. She was very captivating and carried the band with her. It was a sell out show and the mosh pit was jumping. These guys will definitely be playing bigger rooms some time very soon.
