A shout out to all the people who like standing in dark – occasionally bright – rooms listening to music. Looking for connection, solace, trancendence, community, catharsis, insight and understanding. A big up to all the artists out there who stand on stage communing with us. Poets, visionaries, storytellers, mystics, drunkards, shamans, philosophers, thinkers and creators who perfom alchemy from experience within their lives and transmit to us. Who have the nous and skill to stand up there and be brave baring all. Who find narrative and meaning from the myriad layers of the multiverse. To us. Us – the searchers and seekers, the frusrated and mis-aligned, wrong ‘uns, the sensitive soul searchers, poets, deep thinkers, frustrated humans, the confused and wronged, looking for comfort on a sometimes difficult planet and to maybe find connection with a tribe. Thank you.

As we all huddle together on a large rock in time and space as it orbits other rocks and planets in the universe, let’s take time to acknowledge and thank all creators, poets, writers and musicians for the important role they play.
On a rare rainy night in Los Angeles I wasn’t massively in the mood to drive out to the venue in Downtown LA but I am glad I did. Thank you Chelsea Wolfe for your voice and vibe. Dark goth with hints of industrial are not really my ting but I appreciated where were coming from and your unique voice. Fellow humans in the room – wearing dark, white painted faces, some eyeliner, lots of tattoos and often serious expressions – found comfort in the experience and tribe. Thank you for all the spaces – on this occassion also very dark – that support this important creative act. That’s all.
